Program Objective

Support small business development by providing start-up and emerging organizations that are unable to procure financing from financial institutions access to capital at an affordable rate with flexible terms.

How it Works?

The application for being considered for micro financing will ask questions regarding:

   personal financial profile

   business financial profile (if business in operation)

Once application is completed and submitted, it will be reviewed by micro financing committee to decide if requested funds (from $250 up to $2,000) will be made available.

Proposed Loan Product

  • Loan Type: Installment
  • Loan Purpose: Working Capital
  • Loan Amount: $250 to $2000
  • Loan Term: 12-36 Months
  • Loan Rate: 1.00%
  • Payment: Principal and Interest Monthly

  • Inventory

Proposed Ineligible Use of Funds

  • Liquor, marijuana, tobacco
  • Personal use  

Proposed Application Requirements:

  • 1.       21 years of age
  • 2.      State issued photo I.D.
  • 3.      580 minimum credit score
  • 4.      Bankruptcy must be full discharged
  • 5.      Open trades must be paid on time for 12 consecutive months
  • 6.      No charge-off’s in past 24 months
  • 7.      Proof of income
  • 8.      Proof of address
  • 9.      Personal/ business checking account
  • 10.     Business license, DBA, LLC articles of organization, or s-corp articles of incorporation
  • 11.      Business brief history/ background/ executive summary
  • 12.     Resume of principal owner
  • 13.     Must be reside in designated state
  • 14.     50% Debt to Income Ratio

Evaluation Criteria Will Include The Following:

  • Fully developed business idea and mission
  • Target criteria for customers and potential customers
  • Clear value intended to deliver to potential customers
  • Clear intended use of loan funds
  • Plan on how funds will be paid back
  • Success of company will have a positive impact on economically challenged area
  • Operating values of organization are aligned with Biblical principles
  • Looking to advance the Kingdom of God

The Joseph Center has established the Joseph Center Capital Fund to provide capital to minority businesses so they can scale their operations to create wealth in their communities. This resulting wealth will lead to reduced crime, improved literacy, more jobs, and an overall enhanced environment.
